Gary Franklin has specialized in the areas of civil litigation and administrative law since 1990 and primarily practices in the areas of public utilities and energy law, environmental and land use law, and general commercial and civil litigation. He received his Bachelor of Arts in political science from Tufts University in 1985, and his law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1990, where he was an editor of the Communications and Entertainment Law Journal. Gary joined the firm in 1999. In Vermont, he has appeared before numerous courts and boards including the U.S. District Court for the District of Vermont, the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Vermont, the Vermont Supreme Court, various Superior Courts, the Environmental Court, the Environmental Board, and the Public Service Board. Prior to joining the firm in 1999, Gary practiced in San Francisco, California and New York, New York. He is a licensed attorney in New York and California in addition to Vermont. Gary is recognized as one of the top commercial litigators in Vermont by The Chambers USA Guide.
